A clean installation of Platform Manager is recommended if:
- A software update fails to install correctly
- The initial software download or installation was interrupted
- Platform Manager is unable to launch or function correctly after installation
Following the steps below will completely remove all existing Platform Manager files and settings before reinstalling the software.
Before You Begin
If you have created any custom motion profiles, we recommend backing them up before proceeding. These files are located within the MotionSystems directory in your Documents folder.
Clean Installation Steps
1. Power Off the Motion Platform
Ensure the motion platform is fully powered off before beginning the uninstall process.
2. Uninstall Motion Theater
If Motion Theater is currently installed on your PC, uninstall it through the Windows Apps & Features menu.
3. Uninstall Platform Manager
Uninstall Next Level Racing Platform Manager from Windows Apps & Features.
4. Remove the MotionSystems Documents Folder
Navigate to your Documents folder and delete the following directory:
MotionSystems
Important: Make sure to back up this folder first if you would like to keep any custom profiles or settings.
5. Open the Windows Registry Editor
Use Windows Search to open:
Registry Editor
6. Navigate to the MotionSystems Registry Entry
In Registry Editor, browse to:
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\
7. Delete the MotionSystems Registry Folder
Locate and delete the following registry entry:
MotionSystems
Warning: Only delete the specified MotionSystems entry. Editing other registry entries may affect Windows functionality.
8. Restart Your PC
Reboot your computer to ensure all remaining processes and temporary files are cleared.
9. Remove Remaining Installation Folders
After restarting, navigate to:
C:\Program Files (x86)\
Delete the following folders if they still exist:
MotionSystemsNext Level Racing
10. Reinstall Platform Manager
Download and install the latest version of Platform Manager.
Once installation is complete, restart the software and reconnect your motion platform.
